Acrylic Portrait |
 |
| |
Acrylic portraits have a special charm of their own. Acrylic portraits are not watercolor or oil paintings, although they have characteristics of both of them. It is unique and distinct due to the following features: |
| |
- It can be easily painted on canvas. You can choose a canvas of any standard size or any custom size that you may desire.
- It can last for decades and decades. We ensure the longevity of your portrait by treating the canvas in a befitting manner, and by utilizing the best acrylic paints and other raw materials. Although acrylic paints can be applied directly to raw canvas; nevertheless, we utilize the most expensive top-artist-grade acrylic gesso to primer the canvas. We ensure that the paint film is stable by controlled thinning with water and suitable extenders.
- It offers an almost uniform surface. The layering of the paint is almost uniform on the canvas, as the "fat over lean" rule of oil painting does not apply here. This improves the look of the portrait as uniform acrylic paint particles refract light in a uniform manner; thereby, the subtle nuances of the portrait come out more clearly.
- It has a fast drying time. This enables the artist to work fast. However, changes can be incorporated later, as per your suggestions, since we also use high-quality retarders that prolong the drying time, facilitating to make changes.
- It does not become yellow and brittle with time. It does not lose its flexibility.
- It can have a variety of finishes. We can make the finish of the portrait according to your liking. We can make the finish a high gloss or matte. If you want to suppress or enhance the sheen, then that also can be done with topcoats or vanishes. We can add any texture or iridescence to the surface as per your choice.
- It is waterproof, once the painting is dry. The acrylic paint is not resoluble to water.
- It can be modified easily during the painting stage. We use the best quality of acrylic mediums that enable us to modify the texture, flexibility, appearance, hardness, sheen, finish, and all other features of the painting as per your liking.
- It can be used to employ the grattage technique, developed in 1926 by the German artist Max Ernst and the Catalan-Spanish artist Joan Miró. In this technique, the paint is troweled off the canvas to give a sculptural look. This is a surrealist technique, hence the painting will not resemble exactly as your photograph. This technique maybe employed if you need your portrait made in the surrealist grattage style.
- It is less expensive than oil paintings. Because of the fast drying time, the artist can finish more portraits in a relatively shorter duration; hence, the price drops down by almost 20% compared to the price of an oil painting.
- It gives an aura of royalty. You can now have your own portrait, as kings and queens did. You also do not have to pay a royal price for it.
