"This self portrait was a present for my mother on mother’s day. For years I have wanted to do this, but could not find the right painting place. After searching the web I stabled upon paint your life and took the risk. On a Monday morning at work I opened up my email and saw my mothers painting. It was so beautiful and full of life that I started to cry. My mother does not have many pictures of herself when she was young, which is why this meant a lot to me. The portrait is now hanging in her living room, where she goes and stares at herself and just can't believe that it’s her.

The first time the painting was not what I was expecting and this company took upon themselves to repaint the painting and the results turned out very good for the difficulty of my original. They reproduced as close as possible a painting that was lost in a fire from a color photo that was taken before it was destroyed. "Paint Your Life took three separate photographs and put them together to create an oil-painted family portrait. My son-in-law died before he and my daughter had a picture made of the two of them with their 8-year-old and 9-month-old children. I sent Paint Your Life two photographs taken by my late son-in-law -- one of his wife with their baby daughter plus one of their older daughter. I also sent a candid photo of him. In fact, I sent a number of additional photographs, so that the artist could combine the best pictures for the family portrait. It took longer than the usual estimated time for most portraits, because I had sent actual photographs, not digital photos, then I requested several changes from the original "proof" in eye and hair colors, complexions, the background color, and other details. But the company representative and the talented artist were patient with me and made the adjustments. I learned to state my requests as simply as possible, so that the artist could better understand my directions. My daughter, granddaughters and I are delighted with the results. The finished painting, framed and hanging in their home in Florida, is a beautiful representation of the family. I'm glad to see that Paint Your Life is now offering framing. "
