Your first step to customize pictures is to scan the original work. Ensure that the work lies completely flat, face down on your scanning surface. Carefully close the lid, so not to put too much pressure on the surface of the image to be scanned, especially if you have used oils to create your own painting in advance, which tend to have a raised texture. If you prefer, you might mount such a work into a frame to prevent the image from touching the glass and thus prevent damage to your painting. Oh, and ensure that your scanner surface is dust-free as these can show up when you send the digital copy to us for the customization. Your next step is then to open a paint program, if you wish, one that is quite often found as standard on most new computers. Scan your image by using the preview first to see that the image is sitting straight and that the resolution has been optimized. Optimization is important to get the clearest picture possible so we can increase the image size later on for larger paintings or sketches.
When you customize pictures, such as paintings or other images, using your computer, your image can be tailored by us according to the final product that you wish us to produce. You can resize it, skew it, flip it, rotate it, adjust the colours, change the colours, lighten it, darken it, make colour boundaries less defined and even use filters to make the image look older, warped, or even embossed. In fact, the options to customize pictures taken from paintings or other images are only limited by the expanse of your own imagination and creativity.
