Damon was very creative starting as a child. His father and mother noticed their son's enthusiasm, and enrolled him in art studio classes and later on an art high school, at which point drawing became a central part of his life. Talent, hard work and excellent teachers spurred him onto becoming a professional painter. After art school, Damon went onto university to study art, expanding his techniques to include gouache, watercolor, oils and other materials. At this time he also gravitated toward realism - including photorealism - as his preferred art form. Damon is inspired by and looks up to by artists such as Velazquez, Rembrandt, Durer, and Michelangelo.
