In November 2019 my great grandmother passed of lung cancer. I delivered my daughter Grace a month later in December of 2019, which would’ve been our 5th generation. A few hours before my great grandmother passed, the last thing she said to me was concerning the baby. My great grandmother was extremely dear to my grandfather, he was her firstborn of 5 children. I found @paintyourlife.com on Facebook and reached out to them about recreating a younger photo of my great grandmother and a recent photo of my daughter, hand-painted to gift to my grandfather for his birthday. My husband was only 5 years old when his mother passed away in a tragic car accident 45 years ago. She was on her way to pick him up from school, but never made it. He doesn’t have any photos of him and her together.
