As an only child, Nina was spoiled rotten by her grandparents. Unfortunately, she lost her grandfather, also known as pop pop shortly, after entering adulthood. She spoke very highly of him and expressed how much he influenced her life. Recently Nina reminisced about her childhood and the great times she had with her grandfather. She didn`t say much at that moment, but I could feel that she felt something missing. He never got the chance to meet his great-granddaughter as I know Nina would have wanted. My girlfriend, Michelle, lost her grandmother while she was in college. It truly broke her heart as she was very close to her grandmother. Her heart breaks every time she speaks of her grandmother ever even though it’s been over 20 years since she’s passed. Michelle has an 8-year-old son, Mason, whom her grandmother never got a chance to meet. She loves her family so much. Family is love, love is family to her. I was hoping to capture Michelle, Mason, her mom (Jeannette), and grandmother (Ramona) in a family portrait as a 48th birthday/housewarming gift. I wanted the gift to be thoughtful and heartfelt. The painting was a gift for my husband`s 50th birthday. It’s his maternal & paternal grandfathers. He never had the opportunity to take a picture with both of them together. Or his maternal grandfather as an adult. It meant a lot to him to have the painting done.

I am a realtor buying this painting as a closing gift for my client. My sellers' parents built this home in 1939. She was born and raised in this home, grew up and married her husband and raised her own children in this home, and also had some grandchildren live with her at some point as well. Now at the age of 70 and living her entire life in this home, she has decided to start a new chapter in her life, sell her family home and move into a new house. With this painting, she will forever have a piece of her family home with her.
