This was a Valentines' gift to my mom from my dad, the pictures are of her mom and dad and mom when she was in high school, moms' parents had passed away while she was in grammar school. The picture of her parents was long lost decades ago.

My Brother, sister, and I decided to give our mother a Valentine’s Day gift she’d cherish forever. After a two-year battle with cervical cancer she passed on and it was one of my family’s biggest losses. This affected us because since I was six (now 24) my grandmother lived with us and helped raise us and make us into the hard-working determined individuals we are. And I am extremely happy with the work you guys all did to make the vision we had into our reality.

As an only child, Nina was spoiled rotten by her grandparents. Unfortunately, she lost her grandfather, also known as pop pop shortly, after entering adulthood. She spoke very highly of him and expressed how much he influenced her life. Recently Nina reminisced about her childhood and the great times she had with her grandfather. She didn`t say much at that moment, but I could feel that she felt something missing. He never got the chance to meet his great-granddaughter as I know Nina would have wanted. My sister just got married this year, 2021. Our dad passed away in 2011 from cancer so he wasn`t there to walk her down the aisle and give her away to her husband like he was for me and our older sister. She was always daddy`s girl so not having him with her on her wedding day was especially hard. I couldn`t think of anything better to give to her as a wedding gift than a portrait of her and our dad like he was right next to her on that special day. This is a painting that will be treasured for life! She loves it!

At the age of 17, Elly's passed away. She misses her dad on a daily basis. Even more so now since she gave birth to Autumn in early February, just before her 27th birthday because she knows Autumn will never be held by her grandad. But with your thanks, I was able to do something very very special for Elly. A hand-painted portrait of Elly's dad holding Autumn! Now Elly's dad will forever be holding Autumn. And Elly can look at this beautiful picture every day! Even though Autumn will never personally know her grandad, she will know who he is and will be a big part of her life.

All our old pictures and VHS tapes went up in flames when our house burned about 15 years ago so when I saw an ad on FB about paint your life, I knew I found the perfect gift.
