This painting is of my son, my grandfather, and my late grandmother. She has been gone for 17 years. We got this as a Christmas gift for my grandfather. My grandfather always talks about how my grandmother interacted with me when I was young and how much she would have loved to spend time and do things with my son if she were here.

Both of them served in our armed forces. I wanted to do something special for my husband this holiday season. I gifted my wife a portrait of her father and our son for Christmas. My wife’s father passed away 17 years ago from cancer and never got the chance to celebrate her sweet sixteen, attend her college graduation, walk his daughter down the aisle, or meet our son. In this portrait, our son met his late grandfather and the tears of joy in my wife’s face were worth every penny.
