Thinking about a special gift to give our mother we knew the one gift she would love is for her dad and his grandchildren to meet and this picture was the closest way of joining them together!"

"My mother is one of eight children. Because most of their childhood was spent in an orphanage, it was difficult to capture a photo of all of the children with their parents, my grandmother, and grandfather. Unfortunately, both of my grandparents as well as my two uncles have passed away. A full family photo was never captured. Thanks to Paint Your Life, a portrait of all eight children with their parents was made possible. The sentimental value of this piece far outweighs the monetary value and that is demonstrated clearly through my mother`s emotions. The top row is all of the children. When he became a grandfather he only managed to show more compassion and love to them. "My Grandma and Great Grandma passed about three years apart from each other. They were huge influences on my mom, and me as well. I was 16 when my grandma passed and 19 when my great-grandma passed, and my sisters are much younger than me. I wanted my mom to have a picture with them as adults or close to it. They would’ve been so proud of where we all are now, no matter the ups and downs. My dad even helped us even though my parents are divorced. "
