"This last year has been hard and shocking, especially for my mama. She has uprooted herself and become a full-time caretaker of her parents. She knew they’d rather live their last days at home and not in an assisted living facility. As any caregiver will tell you, taking care of another human being can be emotionally and physically draining. It’s round o’clock care with hardly any breaks. However, this last year was particularly hard. My grandmother started to treat my mama differently. At times my mama found herself questioning if my grandmother ever loved her at all. To say there were some unspoken feelings was an understatement. It wasn’t until last Fall when a doctor confirmed that my grandmother was suffering from dementia. And within a few short months, she ended up passing away. My mom suffered from feelings of regret. She knows now that my grandma did love her very much, and that her change wasn’t her doing. She now wishes she could have bypassed all of the contentions she held onto. Although she has come so far, I wanted to create one more happy memory for her. With paint my life, we achieved that today. "

"About 5 years ago, as my husband and I were preparing for our wedding, and getting ready for our bachelor and bachelorette weekends, two weeks before our wedding, we got a phone call that his little sister had completely unexpectedly passed away. As expected, all of our worlds were rocked and we were devastated. She was to be a bridesmaid along with her sister as they had grown to be my “sisters” long before we had gotten even engaged. Fast forward to a few months ago I heard my mother-in-law say she was sad that she would never have a photo of all of her adult children together due to other circumstances as well. When I heard that and saw an ad for these paintings it was a no-brainer this is what I wanted to get her for her birthday in April. While the painting was technically for her it was really something I wanted to do for all of our family’s hearts as I obviously wanted a photo of how the family picture was supposed to look at our wedding. The painting could not have been more perfect and special for us for many years to come. "
