"My brothers' dog Nolan just celebrated his 11th birthday. He is a Weimaraner and their life expectancy is not much more than that. Nolan is a real fighter. A few years back he went in for a routine dental cleaning but we later got a call from the vet saying that they could not do the cleaning as his blood work had come back and his platelets were too low. Long story short he had a tumor on his spleen and we were told it was inoperable. We watch Nolan as his health started to fail and he went from being 80lbs to only 45lbs. I made a call to the University of Guelph Vet Hospital and they saw him the following day and the day after that he had an emergency splenectomy. His odds of surviving was only 20% but he pulled through and has been going strong ever since. He is a miracle dog for sure. I got this painting done of him for his 11th birthday because I am so glad he made it this far. "Jackie is our tiny, 3-legged, 7-year-old rescue dog that we've grown to love deeply in a short amount of time. She was diagnosed with several cancerous tumors less than a month after we became her parents. However, she is still the happiest little pup you'd ever meet and it makes us happy to know we'll have this painting forever even if we don't have her forever.
