"When my wife Brittney was 5 years old she and her two half brothers were separated. (Different dads and long story) in her early 20s, she and her oldest brother Michael found each other over social media. They instantly connected through many phone calls and FaceTimes as he was in Hawaii and she in Sc. She felt like she had found a missing piece of herself. They often spoke of promises to get together “soon” and to visit each other...what we didn’t realize was that the time just wasn’t on our side. In June of 2017, he was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. She feels like a piece of her died that day. The only good thing that came of his death is she reconnected with her other half-brother Anthony and many other family members she never knew she had! Fast forward to her 32nd birthday... I, her husband surprised her with a beautiful hand-painted picture of her and her two brothers. The three were never able to take a picture in their adult life together...but now she has one of "us" she says. She is blown away and will forever cherish this picture."
