My mom`s dad (my grandfather) passed away almost 5 years ago and it was the hardest thing I have ever seen her go through. I had this made for her for Christmas and she absolutely loved it! I presented this special gift to my mom today. The story behind this, my brother was adopted as a baby. God reunited us years ago and we were so blessed we kept in touch for a few years. During that time we were in the process of saving money to visit him in person in Texas but unfortunately, he passed away. We never got the chance to see him or have a pic of us all. Brother put it in my heart to get this for you mom. We love you mom and he is always with us looking over us with happiness. Thank you JL artist for such a beautiful piece. Absolutely perfect!!!!

The portrait is of my mother and her late father who passed over 10yrs ago. Unfortunately there were no up-to-date pictures of them together prior to his passing. I like the two photos specifically because of the similarities in the outfits. Even though the pictures were taken at two different time periods my mother and granddad were rough around the same age at the time of their individual photos. Losing her father was a terrible loss and feeling that can never be filled. I wanted her to feel as if she had a moment with her dad again. Thanks to paintyourlife and Terry (the artist) I was able to give her that moment she’ll cherish forever.

I have yet to meet anyone that knew my Grandpa Jay, with anything negative to say about him. He was the light of so many lives. My dad, emulates him in every way and has become a grandfather to my son the way grandpa Jay was to me. My grandpa Jay passed away when I was 16yrs old, 10 years before my son, Jay, was born. He would have been my sons best friend, followed by my dad for sure. When I saw the opportunity to have a picture made of the three of them together for my dad, I jumped at that chance. I couldn`t be happier with how this picture turned out.

Our painting is hanging pride of place in the dining room. This was our first family photo as a family of four. Due to the pandemic, my experience in the hospital was a lot different and my husband wasn’t even allowed to spend some time with us on the ward because it was out of visiting hours when Violet was born. Thankfully regulations had relaxed that by the time we were home we could have visitors which meant we could get this family photo of us all together. My mother passed over 9-11-2007 after battling cancer for 15 years. I was only 25...my dad had his struggles but held on as long as he could, but sadly he also passed over just 6 weeks before my daughter Izabella was born. I can`t express how much this painting means to me and how it made it feel like my daughter was a part of their life. She even commented "I miss them" even tho she never met them. This artist did an AMAZING job ...beyond anything I could have imagined...and I`ll be saving up and getting another one done by them soon...that`s for sure.
