Kierens' dad passed away before we met. So Alfie has never met his grandad Martin, to have a family portrait of the three generations of Hare men meant so much to me. I surprised Kieren with this oil painting of the three of them and you can see the results from his reaction. He loves it. Thank you Paint Your Life for making this possible.

Our painting is hanging pride of place in the dining room. This was our first family photo as a family of four. Due to the pandemic, my experience in the hospital was a lot different and my husband wasn’t even allowed to spend some time with us on the ward because it was out of visiting hours when Violet was born. Thankfully regulations had relaxed that by the time we were home we could have visitors which meant we could get this family photo of us all together.
