This was a Mother`s day gift for the mom of my mammaw that passed away. She misses her tons and she absolutely loved this portrait. Thank you paint your life.

My mom lost her dad sadly to cancer and doesn`t really have any pictures of him and her together. She regrets not having pictures with him but it was too late to take them. She misses him so much and even certain songs make her cry. She always talks about him and how she wishes he could have been around longer to see us grow up and his birthday is right after Mother`s Day and it always hurts her that he`s gone. I wanted to get a recent picture of her and one of the last pictures we have of my grandpa before he started his chemotherapy but sadly lost that battle. He is dearly missed by all of us!!

My husband and I chose to have this painting done for my mom for Mother`s Day. My father passed away in 2015 and never got to meet our son. Our son was born in 2018, and we have always said my dad was instrumental in bringing our son to us through a very long and difficult journey. My mom was completely overcome with emotion. She loves it so much. I am so grateful to paintyourlife as well as painter Anne for giving us a moment to cherish forever.

So the backstory behind my mom’s big birthday surprise gift. My mom’s mom, my granny, passed back in 2014 from cancer. My mom always says she knows that my granny would have loved to meet her great-grandchildren since she was already so crazy about her grandchildren. My mom adored her mom and absolutely loves her grandchildren. My mom and my grandfather (her father) were so close to one another. My grandfather ended up getting lung cancer and passing away last year. At the time of his passing, I found out I was pregnant but didn’t tell him or anyone in my family, due to the simple factor of the entire family`s pain and suffering of our major loss. When we finally did tell them about our baby boy, my husband and I decided to name him after my grandfather! My mom has said for my son`s entire 8 months on this earth, “ I wish my dad was here so I could see him hold my first grandson.” And that’s where paint your life made it come alive for her 49th birthday present!
