Mother’s Day came early for these two! My Papa, who I adored, passed away back in 2013. Since then my husband and I have had two children of our own (one of which was named after my Papa). There are rarely days since they’ve been born that my mom, grandmother or myself haven’t said, “I wish Papa was here to meet them, hold them and love them the way he loved us.” When I ran across Paint Your Life, I knew this was as close to him, “holding them” as we would get until we meet him in Heaven one day. ?? As I mentioned, this was suppose to be for Mother’s Day, but I couldn’t contain my excitement and I’m so glad I went ahead and gave it to them! My husband was only 5 years old when his mother passed away in a tragic car accident 45 years ago. She was on her way to pick him up from school, but never made it. He doesn’t have any photos of him and her together. I ordered this painting for my husband as a Valentine`s Day gift. The photo is of his Paternal Grandmother Who lived in the Dominican Republic. He wanted her to meet his children and myself, we were set to travel and finally meet her when she passed suddenly less than a month before our scheduled trip. She never got to meet her great grandchildren. He was heartbroken beyond consolement. He is a quiet person and timid, very difficult for him to show emotion, this painting, this gift, is priceless.
